Machine health

Vending machine telemetry, read on every sweep.

Every machine gets a plain status: reporting, silent, or not measurable. You see which ones need you before you start the van.

  • Judged by how it talks

DEX machines are expected to read every hour. Card-reader machines report through the payment provider, which says the moment a reader drops offline.

  • Three missed reads

One missed read is a blip. Three in a row and the machine is marked not reporting, about three hours after it went quiet.

  • The whole read, kept

Per-coil movement, power loss and door events, every temperature sensor with its trend, and the machine’s own last sale and clock.

Fleet observability

Every machine, reconciled every read.

DEX sweeps and MDB sales land in one Operations view. Each machine shows its last read, vends, cashless share, faults, and a plain status: reporting, silent, or not measurable.

  • DEX sweep and MDB sales status for the whole fleet
  • Not-reporting, awaiting-first-restock, and firmware-drift counts
  • Per-machine timeline: power, doors, temperature, selections

Questions

Machine health, answered.

Which telemetry does VendGogh read?

DEX sweeps and MDB card-reader sales. Both land in one Operations view and are reconciled on every read, so a machine on either transport shows the same status.

How does VendGogh know a machine has stopped reporting?

It judges each machine by its transport. A DEX machine is expected to read every hour, and three missed reads in a row mark it not reporting. A card-reader machine is watched through the payment provider, which reports the moment the reader goes offline.

What does "not measurable" mean?

VendGogh has no way to judge that machine’s liveness yet, so it says so instead of guessing. A machine with no reads is never counted as a zero.

What can I see for a single machine?

A timeline of power, doors, temperature and selections, its last read and last sale, vends, cashless share, faults, and any firmware drift against other machines of the same model.
